Forumotion Problem

Post by StuffOfLegends on Mon Sep 22 2008, 14:45

I went to the forumotion help forum. Tons of websites are having the same problem as us. Hopefully it is resolved soon. In the time being please try to just wait it out or just deal with the forum. There is nothing the NRC or any mod can do.

Edited: I found the source of the problem and the portal/index should be fine now. I am not sure about the lost posts though, or if they can ever be brought back.

Yeah I just looked round the site and quite a few posts have been lost. This ain't good because I can't think of any way we would get them back. I'm not sure what the feeling is here on this, whether these blank posts should be deleted or altered or just left. Feedback would be appreciated.

If the deleted posts can not be retrieved, maybe the blank posts should just be deleted. Members can post again in certain threads where their posts got deleted, it'll probably take a while, but in my opinion, the forum will look neater if the blank posts got deleted because it would just look messy if left alone.

At least 200 posts were lost. All posts made in roughly the past two days was lost and that was a very active period of time for WGX. This can't afford to happen again and I've seen so many sites made by forumotion which fail miserably. I'm on the process of making a new WGX site. Yeah, we made a fair amount of posts here but if forumotion is going to be all glitchy, it's time we went elsewhere before WGX gets massive. At the moment, it's still in it's infancy so moving providers shouldn't be a big deal as we only have 800 posts and at least a third of them are blank.

Well it certainly isn't the same as here because it is being held on proboards rather than forumotion. But it will be better, that's for sure.

Well they blatantly will because I plan on closing this down and leaving a link to the new place. We just need to progress and if you've noticed, no forumotion sites within our circle have survived and progressed. We need to be different and being on proboards is a start.

I keep getting a pop up about script errors every time I load a page
on here. This is crazy...

Same here. It's annoying as hell! Also I'm all for moving to a new site, anything is better than home page error all the time.
